As a writer hailing from Colorado Springs, I belonged to Pikes Peak Writers, and found myself surrounded by fantasy and science fiction aficionados. Nice people, wonderful, in fact, even if they were a little out of this world. As a romantic suspense and mystery author, I wanted to invest my time and dollars with a like-minded group that could educate me further. Over the years, RMMWA has fulfilled that objective and more. I have found the programs, camaraderie, and professionalism exceptional. As an aside, you don’t appreciate how beneficial an organization is until you move away–even farther than the Springs. Long before COVID, RMMWA found ways to benefit the entire membership, and not just those who could attend in-person meetings. It is innovation like this that has kept me renewing year after year.

Donnell Ann Bell writes around the theme SUSPENSE TOO CLOSE TO HOME, and has published four best-selling standalones, and book one of a series. An award-winning author for her fiction, she was an editor for the Colorado Springs Business Journal and Pikes Peak Parent Newsmagazine. She is a proud member of Mystery Writers of America, Sisters in Crime, NINC, and Pikes Peak Writers. Currently she’s working on book two of her suspense. Black Pearl, A Cold Case Suspense, was a 2020 Colorado Book Award finalist.
